TL;DR

Until 2026-11-09T22:00:00Z, the first 10 distinct accounts to use each of the six original paid features get that feature free for 12 months from first use; from 2026-11-09T22:00:00Z the founder model (Policy v4) widens every fee-bearing feature to 25 permanent founder slots. Spots are claimed automatically on first use and written to the public ledger (stream founders).

Who gets a founder spot?

The first accounts to use a paid feature, in ledger order — 10 per feature under the legacy perk, 25 per fee-bearing feature under the founder model. Sandbox and test accounts never count. A spot is per feature, so one account can be a founder of several.

How long is it free?

Under the legacy perk, 12 months from that account's first use of the feature. Under the founder model (Policy v4, from 2026-11-09T22:00:00Z) a founder slot is permanent — it never expires — and claims recorded under the legacy perk become permanent at the same instant. The rc-0006 fair-use cap still applies: 1,000 founder free uses per feature per account per month. The pricing code checks the founder record before every charge.

When does it apply?

The legacy perk is announced as rc-0005 on /transparency/changes with the 7-day notice and applies from 2026-11-06T03:00:00Z, alongside the planned prices it amends (rc-0002, rc-0003, rc-0004). The founder model is announced as rc-0007 + rc-0008 and takes effect at 2026-11-09T22:00:00Z. Nothing is charged before a feature's prices take effect anyway.

Are founders identified?

Founders are shown only by a pseudonymous id (a hash of feature and account). No names, keys or account ids are published.
